Capernaum

Young Life leaders have the privilege of knowing and sharing their lives with kids and young adults with disabilities. While all Young Life activities are open to every kid, many Young Life areas have dedicated programs for kids and young adults with disabilities, typically referred to as Young Life Capernaum Ministries.

Young Life Capernaum gives young people with developmental and intellectual disabilities the chance to experience fun and adventure, to develop fulfilling friendships and to challenge their limits while building self-esteem through Club, Camp, and other exciting activities. Young Life staff and volunteers model Christ's unconditional love and acceptance as they walk alongside these young adults - filling their lives with love and support.

CLUB

Bi-weekly Club is a safe place where young people with disabilities can let down their guards; discover new friendships; actively engage in crazy games, skits, music and dancing; and also hear a short, encouraging message of God’s love for them.

Club is on THURSDAYS from 6:30-8pm

CAMP

Young Life camping involves high adventure, lots of fun, great food and excellent speakers who understand and respect high school and middle school kids. At Young Life's camps in North America, kids are treated to resort-quality facilities, for which Young Life has become known. As Young Life's worldwide outreach continues to grow, our camping program is expanding as well, with Young Life-owned or leased camps in a number of locations. Regardless of the facility, the experience is the same — kids getting away from the pressures of everyday life, having fun with friends and their Young Life leaders, and hearing the message of God's love in terms they can understand.

LEADERS
Young Life Capernaum leaders are caring people who strive to provide what every young person needs, especially those with disabilities — a life filled with love, support, excitement and challenge. These trained leaders spend time with their Capernaum friends, modeling the love of Jesus Christ at weekly club meetings, special events and on camp trips — helping young people with disabilities discover their ability to do new things and to be all God designed them to be.
